Kara's Approach to Therapy
Hi! I'm Kara! I am currently studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I am excited to be a counseling intern at The Mind and Body Collective throughout the fall of 2026 and spring of 2027. My work is grounded in being sex-positive, gender affirming, LGBTQ affirming, feminist, and intersectional. I have experience working with adolescents on topics including grief, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and trauma.
I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and accepted exactly as you are. Together, we’ll explore your experiences, identify patterns that may be holding you back, and build practical tools to help you cope, grow, and move toward the life you want. My goal is to walk alongside you with empathy and curiosity, honoring your unique story while empowering you to recognize your own strengths and resilience.
Clinical topics that interest me include EMDR, spirituality, and religious deconstruction. I am committed to providing identity-affirming care for individuals of all backgrounds. I believe that humans thrive and heal in connection, specifically through the development of strong communication. I value learning, collaboration, humility, and connection in the counseling space!
